Lucky’s at QT Canberra has beaten their interstate counterparts to win at the National Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Awards for Excellence, a prestigious ceremony attended by more than 500 industry people at Jupiter’s Casino on the Gold Coast last Monday night.
The Canberra speakeasy bar picked up the award for Best Bar Presentation and Service (Regional).
To be eligible for the award, entrants must first earn a place on the finalist list by winning their state title through a submission process that includes mystery shopping by an independent judge. Lucky’s earned a place in the national finalist line-up by winning Best Cocktail Bar (Accommodation Division) at the 2014 AHA ACT Hospitality Awards in July.
This award also comes on the back of QT Canberra concept restaurant Capitol Bar & Grill being awarded One Hat in the recent Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2015.
Food & Beverage Manager, Tarn Morrow, proudly commented that QT Canberra has quickly established itself as the hottest destination for great food and handcrafted drinks in Canberra. “This award has shown that Canberra can compete with the very best from Sydney and Melbourne. From the outset, Lucky’s has been designed to be a place where Canberrans can relax and enjoy the unique style and flair represented by the QT brand”.
QT Canberra opened in April 2014 and is a designer hotel brand offering from renowned hotel and entertainment brand Amalgamated Holdings Pty Limited (AHL) – owner also of multi-award winning Atura, Rydges Hotels and Resorts, Art Series Hotels, Event Cinemas and Thredbo Resort. Key collaborators on the QT Canberra project included renowned QT Hotels & Resorts interior designer Nic Graham, Creative Food Director for QT Hotels, Rob Marchetti and Melbourne-based stylist Anna Roberts.
QT Hotels & Resorts offer and eclectic food and beverage experience across all our properties,’ said David Seargeant Group Managing Director AHL. Receiving such an accolade for QT Canberra demonstrate our commitment to bring this philosophy to Canberra.’
Further expansion plans are underway for the award-winning hotel chain with new addition to the brand in Melbourne and Bondi over the next 2 years.
