The Liquid Gold Cocktail

It seems like gold is all around us at the moment. Most of us are chasing the damn stuff every day (dat hustle, you know how it is), our Olympians are most certainly chasing gold in Rio, and Kiiara, well she likes her gold ‘up in her teeth’… each to their own. Anyway, the point is that everybody likes a bit of gold, and at Lucky’s Speakeasy we’ve found the perfect way for you to get your fix.

Introducing Liquid Gold; a whisky sour twist that takes its cues from a Christmas in July, capturing all the element of a traditional Christmas dinner. “Christmas dinner in a glass?” Settle down, the closest thing to meat in the glass is the Wild Turkey… whiskey.

Here’s how we spin our Liquid Gold: first we take 45ml of Peach Cinnamon infused Wild Turkey Rye and add a dash of lemon, some egg white, a splash of honey syrup (from our own beehives) and some umami bitters. Then we shake it, shake it baby – first a dry shake, then a wet shake – then it’s strained over ice. We pop a marigold flower from our rooftop garden and a pinch of cinnamon and voilà! Your very own insta-worthy glass of gold.

And something to accompany, perhaps? Food-wise you can’t go past some golden waffles with maple syrup with our Buttermilk and Sake Fried Chicken; crispy, crunchy, waffley goodness. Or follow up with dessert, like the Get Sweet ‘n’ Lucky; an American brownie, bourbon ice cream and bacon crumbs.

Sip, nibble and then bask in the golden afterglow.
