Being a child of the 80’s, an admiration for raspy-voiced, girl-power rockers is in my blood. Their nonchalant air of cool inspired a generation of women that it was OK to prefer leather and mullets over dresses and curls. But not everyone just ‘had it’. One woman did though…and 50 years on, still does!

Don your best leathers guys and gals- Suzi Q is coming to town!

After ‘chucking a Farnsie’ after her Australian farewell tour two years ago, Suzie Quatro has booked in an encore tour this February, being not quite ready for retirement just yet.

With a career spanning over five decades the legendary rocker isn’t quite ready to hang up her guitar, saying the allure of Australia is in her blood.

Her aptly named Leather Forever tour is not simply another rock’n’roll revival but a result of new music after teaming up with The Sweet’s guitarist Andy Scott and Slade’s drummer Don Powell. The trio, QSP, will be the opening act for the Leather Forever show and will give fans a sneak-peak of tracks before they release their self-titled album in October this year.

In addition to her new music, fans can expect to hear the old favourites such as Can the Can and 48 Crash and she’s even hinted Devil Gate Drive will be the last big hit of the night.

Never to rest on her laurels, the tour will be a mixed bag of delights. But one thing is for certain; Suzi Q is still a fan of the leather jumpsuit and will be rocking these just as she did as a 70’s wild child.

Girl power, indeed.
