QT always gets excited about visits from interstate creatives! The Sydney Dance Company has arrived in Canberra with a stellar triple-billed performance choreographed by three of the company’s most talented and prolific choreographers. SDC Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela leads the charge with the world premiere of his new and creative contemporary piece, set to a score of Bach’s classic Violin Partita No. 2 in D Minor, the dynamic contrast of which was deliberate in celebration of the Company’s 45^th anniversary. Italian choreographer Jacopo Godani is rehashing his 2011 composition Raw Models, whilst Gideon Obarzanek has devised a performance that is inclusive of the whole company and perfectly showcases his talent for choreography on a large scale. Whether you’re a dance buff or have two left feet, make sure you catch SDC whilst they’re in town!
