Injectable Donuts & The Dessert Renaissance

Chris Martin once sang, “we live in a beautiful world, yes we do, yes we do”, and with the sweet bombardment of hectic desserts popping up of late, I’d have to agree. You’ve no doubt seen that monster milkshakes, crazy-ass ice creams and other sweet treats that could make your nanna involuntarily swear in amazement seem to be everywhere at the moment. And we are not complaining!

Along with a quickly growing food scene, Canberra has become quite a haven for those with a sweet tooth, with places like Koko BlackPancake Parlour and Pâtissez dishing up all sorts of delicious Frankensteinic desserts.

With the help of Rob Marchetti, the crew down at QT Canberra’s Capitol Bar And Grill have crafted a list of delectable desserts that will have you drooling on your ipad. From the Burnt Banana New York Cheesecake to the Crème Whisky Caramel, they’re concocting an army of sweet flavours ready to attack your tastebuds.

The star of the show has to be the Ciambelle Bambino – Baby Doughnuts with cinnamon sugar, vanilla custard honey (from our very own rooftop beehive), served with strawberry, lemon mint and jam syringes. Yep, you can inject those delightful warm balls with gooey goodness as you please.
