Grab some beard oil and make sure you’ve got the good skinny jeans ready to go because the Holidays On Ice are coming to Canberra to celebrate the launch of their latest album, The Luxury Of Wasted Space. Hitting us up at Smiths Alternative this Good Friday, April 18, it is going to be a smashing night of awesome indie pop from one of Australia’s best unsung duos.

The bands latest album, The Luxury of Wasted Space, is a tongue in cheek reference to top the modern aversion to emptiness. It was produced almost entirely in their living room, inspired by the collection of art and furniture that we so often use to create the sensation of comfort and home.

While indie and folk music has obviously enjoyed a re-resurgence (seriously, every time we think it’s about to nod off, another band comes along and makes us love it all over again) Holidays On Ice are like a warm blanket for your ears. Melodic and thoroughly enjoyable, the group provide a musical experience that will have you tapping your vintage shoes.
