The Ultimate Eurovision Superfan Party at the NFSA

Apr 13, 2016  ·  2 min read

By Jemma Mrdak.

The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) is another one of Canberra’s treasures. Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, it is the Nation’s living archive and has collected and preserved our rich audiovisual heritage, so that it can be shared with the community.

To date, the collection holds more than 2.16 million (yes, million) works, including a wide range of film, television and radio programs.

The NFSA also holds some pretty cool events too. Last year they hosted a 24-hour scary movie marathon on Halloween, and earlier this year, an Australia Day Party, complete with a BBQ and Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown. Big props to the NFSA.

Next month, these party animals will be hosting a banging Eurovision Superfan Party! In association with SBS and the Embassy of Sweden, the NFSA will be throwing what will definitely be the best Eurovision party that you’ve ever been to. Why? Because you probably have never been to one before… and also because there will be Euro-centric karaoke, Eurovision bingo, and a (delayed) live feed of the finals. Abba-dabba-doo!

… so, so sorry about that last joke.

But, whilst on the topic of the Swedish super group, there’ll be prizes for whoever rocks up in their best ABBA costume.

The Ultimate Eurovision Superfan Party at the NFSA kicks off at 5.30pm on Sunday, May 15 in the NFSA Arc Cinema.
