This autumn why not try something a little different and experience the local wildlife by taking a dusk walk at Mulligans Flats Woodland Sanctuary?
Located north-east of Canberra just outside the suburb of Forde in Gungahlin, Mulligans Flats Woodlands Sanctuary is a dedicated safe haven for local flora and fauna.
The box-gum woodland is home to a number of local critters, such as the rare Bush Stone Curlew, bettongs and bandicoots amongst a number of other furred and feathered new best friends. A Sanctuary guide will take you to known hangouts (kinda like kids in a skatepark only animals and its in the bush…) and teach you about the history of the region.
The Sanctuary is the perfect scientific setting for those studying woodlands and ecosystem restoration. One of the Sanctuary’s main goals, through educational and eco-visitor opportunities, is to transform the perceptions and values of visitors to Canberra and the community of the Australian Capital Region. So with every visit you help Australia’s native wildlife a little bit more!
Then, once you’re done, why not treat yourself to a warm bed and hot breakfast by taking advantage of our fantastic Easter package that includes overnight accommodation and breakfast for two in Capitol Bar and Grill.
Dusk walks at Mulligans Flats Woodlands Sanctuary happen daily. For more information, including directions, head to their website here.
