Venues & EventsWould you look at the time, it’s bloody Spring! The coldest months of 2017 have come and gone and here we are sitting pretty as the those Spring winds begin to blow all those frosty mornings away.
Given that we went against our own advice during Winter, it’s time to get out of hibernation and fill up the social calendar with a bunch of seasonal activities.
Thankfully, our little capital is packed full of things to do this time of year, so we made you a little hit list for Spring:
Canberra Time Fun Run
As Jervis Bay is a little far from Adelaide Avenue, the City2Surf Canberra is replicated with a run around the city that’ll kick start your Spring. You can choose to do the 5km, 10km or the whole hog of 14km… which with enough training over the next week, is very doable. Though not recommended. If you’re still to get you bib organised or in need of more information, head over HERE
Canberra Times Fun Run is on September 3Circa’s Landscape With Monsters
The Canberra Theatre Centre has gone and done it again bringing another stellar performance to the stage. This September, the acrobatic and flexible humans from Australia’s top circus company, Circa, will be bringing Landscape with Monsters to Canberra. The performance plays with the idea of an evolving industrial environment and how the human condition moves with it. Tickets will no doubt sell out.
Circa’s Landscape with Monsters is on at the Canberra Theatre Centre from September 6-9.FASHFEST
This is most likely already on your calendar, but if it’s not, get it on there. Canberra’s finest event in the fashion world will take over the National Convention Centre in late September and exhibit the best that local labels have on offer. With season launches and after parties to match, this is something you don’t want to miss out on.

Suitcase Rummage is on September 24Floriade
So if Spring is known for anything, it’s got to be Floraide. The capital springs, literally, into a bouquet of colour as Commonwealth Park comes to life with seasonal blooms. This year there is so much going on that we’ll be sure to let you know of the all the particulars. Though, pay special attention to the Twilight Concert on the eve of the festival. David Bowie tribute band alongside the Canberra Symphony Orchestra will take kick the flower festival off the right way, stamping it a highlight of the season. Peep more details HERE
Floriade is on from September 15 – October 15Wallabies v Argentina
