The days are growing shorter and the cooler climate is settling in, it’s time to settle down and relax with a delicious glass of red (or five), in front of a cosy fireplace.
The tranquil, rural countryside around the ACT is home to 140 vineyards with more than 33 wineries within 35 minutes of Canberra… and when those powers combine they make the Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival, which is exactly the place you can celebrate the new vintage, cool climate wines, as well as enjoy live entertainment and delicious food.
Held over April 9 and 10, the Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival will showcase local wineries that offer a large variety of tasting sensations and adventures, music and artwork, glorious food and the opportunity to spend a day out in the countryside.
The Harvest Festival will give you the opportunity to meet some movers and shakers of Canberra’s winery district, where you can also enjoy in guided tours of their vineyards, as well as taste local wines from the region – just make sure you steady yourself, okay?
The idea of the festival is that you spend the weekend visiting the various wineries in the region, with each one offering unique experiences.
Four Winds Vineyard will have their wood fired pizza oven running and Ned Philpot pumping out tunes throughout the afternoons. Wood-fired pizza, a glass and red and live music? Pretty sure life doesn’t get any better than.
Head to the Canberra Wines website for more information on the individual wineries, as well as the full festival program.
The Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival runs from April 9 –Â 10.
