The new messiah’s of Australian rock and roll, Calling All Cars, have not only released a new album for us to worship to but are finally coming bringing their goods to the ACT to launch that baby. Yes, the lads from Melbourne will be playing at the Transit Bar on Thursday, May 1 and there will be fun to be had by the pint!
After being the support act for some of the best bands to have graced our salty planet including AC/DC and Queens of the Stone Age, it is great to see the lads as the headline (although we personally wouldn’t mind being openers for either of those bands). With two hit studio albums already under their belt and their third release, Raise The People, opening on the top 100, Calling All Cars have shown that their more than just another rock band. Especially when you consider the fact that the boys have two radio singles – ‘Werewolves’ and ‘Standing In The Ocean’ – from the album already saturating the airwaves, giving you just a small taste of what’s to come on the band’s most accessible and arguably best offering yet.
So if you’re either a starry eyed local with a thirst for decent music or just happen to be staying with us and looking to check out the local scene, get your fingers in to some tickets and say you saw them before they were bigger than Ben Hur.
Calling All Cars will play at Transit Bar on Thursday, May 1.
