Our favourite drop bears are coming to Canberra! Sydney-based, Boy and Bear, have announced another tour and they will be bringing the endearing indie goodness to the Australian University Union Bar on Friday, May 23.
After spending eight months recording their sophomore album “Harlequin Dream” – which was released in August 2013 and debuted at number one in the ARIA Albums Chart – the band proceeded to sell out their national ’16 Days Under a Southern Sun’ tour. Three ARIA Award nominations and two overseas tour announcements later, the band is keeping the momentum rolling with a slew of live performances across Australia. We’re just thankful that they could fit us in at all!
In case you had missed it amongst busy days of taking in our amazing art and historic sites, the local and international successes of Harlequin Dream has cemented the boys’ status as one of the best indie bands around today. With several comparisons made to the grandpas and memaw’s of folk, Fleetwood Mac, it is clear that musically they’ve not only come in to their own but have embraced a more diverse sound, experimenting with a slightly edgier rock and clear pop sounds.
Boy and Bear will be performing at the Australia National University Union Bar Friday, May 23.
