This 90s revival that’s happening across Australia is giving us serious life. Almost as though they’ve stepped out of our teenage playlists and straight on to a touring omnibus, Bone Thugs ‘n’ Harmony have confirmed a national tour of Australia and they’re coming to Canberra on Thursday, August 14 to play at The Basement.
With over 30 million albums sold worldwide and collaborations with some of the most respected names in the business including 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G and Mariah Carey to name but a few, Bone Thugs n Harmony continue to be one of the most popular hip hop groups of all time.
Since their inception in the mid 90s, Bone Thugs ‘n’ Harmony have been a consistent mainstay in the hip-hop industry, even after their controversial non-album that was released in 2013 and the subsequent high-profile departures of key members. Thankfully, these have been put behind them and the crew are stronger than ever as they take to the stages for their second Australian tour in two years.
In addition to the concerts, the group will be continuing talent search on a quest to discover the best un-signed Australian talent, from all genres, with the aim to sign them to their new record label. Krayzie Bone has said of the initiative, “I believe it’s very important for an artist or anyone who is trying to be successful at launching a record label to be very hands on and involved with the calibre of artists they’re pursuing. Me personally, I’ve always thought it best to think outside of the box when it comes to music and searching for new artists. This is the reason that myself and my partner Wish Bone are moving forward with this worldwide talent search. Apart from America, Australia was first on our list because after hearing some of the artists last time we were there, Wish and myself were thoroughly impressed with the level of talent out there and with the time constraints we had last time this it is a priority hence why we are doing this next tour all by road so we can see a little more of what Australia has to offer, and with the biggest number of shows yet in Australia this will be our biggest Australian tour yet”.
Bone Thugs ‘n’ Harmony will perform at The Basement on Thursday, August 14.
