Move over tradition, there’s a new sport in town – and it promises to bring seduction, elegance, and mastered technique to aerial artistry like you’ve never seen before.

It’s time to delve into the mysterious world of pole dancing, a sport that has rapidly become welcome to a worldwide fitness phenomenon. This year QT Canberra will play host to the 6th year of the ACT & Tasmanian Pole on the 2^nd of June, with over 20 talented aerial artists expected to compete.

Showcasing both men to women athletes, you can expect to see a glimmering line-up of talent and extraordinary fitness, as entrants compete for the state titles. From a novice beginning in 2011 with 30 competitors, Canberra-based pole studio Aerial Pole Academy has highlighted the growing popularity of the sport, with over 300 competitor entries and 180 state and regional finalists expected for this year’s competition.

The competition will hold four unique categories in Amateur, Group, Men’s and Professional titles – all of which are set to display amazing feats of strength, grace, and flexibility.
