At QT Wellington, we believe sustainability can be stylish, and that small changes can make a big impact. That’s why we’ve reimagined the way we source, serve and supply for our guests.

• Less is More: Toothbrushes, combs and other personal essentials are available on request, reducing unnecessary waste while ensuring everything you need is only a phone call away.
• Mini to Maxi: Single-use bathroom amenities have been replaced with refillable Tom Dixon dispensers, delivering a luxurious in-room experience that’s kinder to the planet.
• Locally Sourced & Thoughtfully Chosen: Across our dining venues, sustainability starts with what’s on the plate. We partner with New Zealand suppliers who share our commitment to responsible sourcing, providing fresh, seasonal produce that celebrates the best of our local regions. Taking our farm-to-table philosophy one step further, some of the ingredients featured throughout our menus are hand-picked from Executive Chef Tim Smith’s own garden, travelling from garden bed to plate with exceptional freshness and flavour.
• Water Smarts: Low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets help save thousands of litres of water each year without compromising guest comfort.
• Digital by Design: Paperless check-in, digital business cards and digital compendiums keep things sleek, efficient and environmentally conscious.

Sustainability is a shared effort, and at QT Wellington, every guest has the chance to be part of the bigger picture:

• The Towel Turnaround: Skip a towel change and you’ll not only help save water, you’ll also receive a $10 food and beverage voucher as a small thank you from us.
• Reduce and Recycle: Separate recyclable items from general waste and leave them aside. Our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.
• Sip Responsibly: Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it at our public water stations to help reduce single-use plastic.
• Roam Responsibly: Walk, bike or scooter your way around Te Aro and the surrounding Wellington neighbourhoods. Travelling further? Take advantage of Wellington’s excellent public transport network or charge your electric or hybrid vehicle at one of our EV charging stations.
• Mindful Shopping: While travelling, shop thoughtfully and support local makers where possible. Avoid purchasing products derived from threatened species, heritage artefacts or culturally significant items.

Even these simple everyday choices help make your stay more sustainable while keeping it effortless and stylish. Together, small actions can add up to a greener future.

True sustainability recognises people as much as place. At QT Wellington, we acknowledge Māori as tangata whenua and recognise the mana whenua of Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Inspired by the principle of kaitiakitanga, we aim to make thoughtful choices that support our environment, our community and future generations.
