World of WearableArt®

We’re more than spoilt with world-class events in Wellington, and in true QT fashion, we’re up for anything that’s out of the ordinary. Being World of WearableArt®’s official partner, our staff, lobby and guests were buzzing as the event brought so much excitement to the city.

Upon arrival at the hotel, our guests had the opportunity marvel at the four garments on display in our Long Gallery by the porte cochere. These included the 2014 Supreme WOW® Award winner, ‘Poly Nation’ by Kate MacKenzie, ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ by Eve Gilliland, ‘Feminine Mettle’ by Frank Strunk III and ‘She Only Sees With Mirrors’ by Rodney Leong.

Our lobby was a subject of a glamorous and wild transformation to celebrate the event in partnership with Champagne Perrier-Jouët, which guests were invited to enjoy by the flute.

Hippopotamus Restaurant and Cocktail Bar put on a show too, with a delectable Edible Art dish to compete in Welly Loves WOW Edible Art Competition. Once voting for the People’s Choice Award kicked off, we were delighted to find out that Hippo brought home the gold – thanks everyone for your discerning taste!

Bespoke Champagne Perrier-Jouët’s cocktails and the WOW high tea affair continued at Hippo during World of WearableArt® as a fitting pre-show indulgence, while stunning harbour views entertained the eye.
