As Winter enters the home stretch to Spring, the temps are forecasted to stay much of the same. Below 20 degrees with the odd sun filled day beaming through. So good news, right?!
It might be easier to escape to the warm waters of the Southern Pacific. My Instagram feed tells me that the Fiji is looking exceptional at the moment with a nice swell coming through the northern breaks.
Though if you find yourself on the land of the long white cloud maybe you should resist the hibernation temptation.
With the temps staying above freezing, you’d be silly to be hibernating like a brown bear this winter, especially when there is so much wild action waiting for you outside.
The Wellington Zoo would like to invite you over on any given Wednesday this winter and you’ll be warmed up with $12.00 tickets to the whole damn park. So now you can stroll around the zoo checking out those rugged up Chimps as they stare back at you with that confused look. This one is only for the rest of August, so don’t be a fool – snoop yo’ tickets HERE.
Or maybe you’re wanting to go on the hunt for the classic Kiwi. The little long beaked critter is out there, you just need to know where to look. As you and I wouldn’t know how to find them, it’s best left to a professional guide to show you around the Wellington Forrests. Zealandia is exactly what you need. The night time tour heads out 30 minutes before the sun sets and you’ll start a 2.5hr tour with red lit torches looking for a whole host of New Zealand animals including Glow Worms, Ruru, Pāteke, Longfin Eel, Maud Island Frog, Tuatara, Wētā, Kākā and the Takahē. You can spy more information and book your tickets over HERE.
If all this wilderness is too much, we will also hear an argument for staying in, ordering a bunch of delicious room service and while bingeing on some Netflix as the cold night takes over.
You do you Wellington!
