Under the Hood: No Ugly’s Libido Tonic

Mar 7, 2023  ·  3 min read

Why so hush-hush about the ultimate rush? At QT, we believe whispers should be saved for sweet nothings. Let’s say libido out loud. We’re on a mission to raise the discourse around intercourse, making pleasure gaps a thing of the past. So we caught up with our friends at No Ugly to discover the secrets behind their pleasure-inducing Libido Tonic.

Meet Jo and Aaron, Co-Founders of No Ugly – a wellness brand with a higher purpose to eradicate ‘ugly’ and help you perform at your best.

What made you decide to craft a libido tonic?

We like to solve problems for people and we pretty much have the body covered head to toe, so it was only right that we addressed what we suspected was a fairly big issue for a lot of people. To get a bit of context as to how significant the issue was, we did a survey of our database and had the most incredible response – 69% of those surveyed wanted to be having more sex! Sexual drive is an incredibly complex puzzle, influenced by physical, environmental, hormonal and emotional factors – but we love a challenge so we set out to develop a world first wellness tonic to bring our customers more pleasure.

What research went into understanding the ingredients that help to support libido?

Our food scientist, Sarah Walter, always starts her process with a scientific literature review – but in the case of the Libido Tonic – she used a mixture of both science and ancient Ayurvedic studies and spoke to a Somatic Sexologist too to understand the complexities of the issue. No Ugly Libido is packed with KSM66 Ashwagandha, Maca Root, Shatavari (which translates to ‘she who has hundreds of husbands’) Ginseng, Gingko Biloba & L-theanine as well as our ever-present foundation of vitamins and minerals, delivered in an isotonic formulation so you can absorb all that good stuff. What’s more, it’s bursting with strawberries and cherries to have you overflowing with gorgeousness.

Why do you think it’s important to look after your libido when it comes to wellness?

There have been numerous studies that have shown an active sex life to be closely correlated to living a longer, happier life. All those feel-good brain chemicals like endorphins and oxytocin are released during sex too – they activate pleasure centres in the brain that create feelings of intimacy and relaxation and help stave off anxiety and depression – so who wouldn’t want a bit of that!

We’re big fans of No Ugly. Book a stay at ours and expect your minibar to be stocked with their terrific tinctures.
