When it comes to Film Festivals, it’s always good to have a couple of niche pieces thrown into the mix to get everyone stoked. Like a piece of stop animation, a film shot in reverse or drone cinematography… It breaks it up a little and keeps the punters thirsty.
For the team over at Drone Film Festival, they’ve gone and stacked a festival with just that, dedicated to the magic that is drone shot short films and it hits Wellington this November!
Now the submissions had criteria to adhere to; 50% of the overall piece had to incorporate Drone, Drone Film, Drone Footage and/or Aerial shots and kept below 15 minutes. Pretty simple huh?
The results that kind of open flexibility yields is… well… this:
We’re sure you’d agree this is going to be a highlight for those that love film and flying.
In only its second year, the Drone Film Festival has been touring Australia for the last month and is now hitting Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to round out the tour.
There’s something about Drone cinematography, it feels like it opens a world of film that hasn’t yet been tamed.
The rawness of the clips and the shots gives a feeling of a lot more to come.
