Hippopotamus welcomes Antipodes for eight glowing weeks of Nourish Me High Tea. From the outside, in, it’s all about self-care darlings!

Indulge in a deliciously delicate glow-up with grape seed butter, avocado and pear savouries, and white chocolate, vanilla and marine collagen operas.

This menu has been created by our award-winning Executive Chef, Jiwon Do, inspired by Antipodes’ best-selling natural skincare.

So, let’s find out what inspired Jiwon for this delicious duo of a partnership.

Q: This is a really exciting partnership for Hippopotamus and we need to know more about it. Jiwon, tell us more about why you chose to work with Antipodes.

A: Well, both Hippopotamus and Antipodes share the ethos of what New Zealand Nature offers to us all. The only difference between us is whether it’s on your plate or on your skin. So, I thought why don’t we bring them together and make an experience for guests for their skin and their bellies? This is the first time Hippopotamus has done a High Tea partnership with a brand that isn’t food focused, so we are really looking forward to guests trying it out and seeing how it performs. From what we can see so far, people are loving it! We are already very busy and nearly booked out and it has only just begun.

Q: A fantastic partnership indeed. So, what inspired your menu?

A: I wanted to showcase that what is delicious by taste can also be nourishing for your whole body. I used the natural ingredients found in the Antipodes products, such as avocado, kiwi, grapes, plum and Manuka honey, to create nutritious, hydrating and fresh delicacies for the Nourish Me High Tea.

Q: Black garlic scones, Sauvignon Blanc macarons and so much more goodness, it really does sound delicious! What would have to be your favourite part about the High Tea?

A: The food is fantastic; I am really proud of what we have created. It looks and tastes delightful. However, being able to work alongside Antipodes is definitely a highlight for me, being inspired by their product profile and making it edible has been a lot of fun.

Q: We can’t wait to try it! In your opinion, what should guests be most excited about for this High Tea?

A: The experience! It’s all about treating yourself from the inside out with some of your favourite people by your side. Bring your friends, bring your family, and have an afternoon of pampering. Good company and delicious food, all whilst feeding your skin with the nutrients it needs, need I say more?

Soak in all of the vitamin A, C, D and E, every Saturday and Sunday throughout from May through to June at Hippopotamus.
