African Fashion Festival New Zealand

Paris Fashion Week is a crazy time and place if you ever find yourself amongst it. I here from those who have been, that New York Fashion Week is similarly an insane space to be around. The models, the people, the personalities, it can all get a little too much for the senses.

That high fashion can be hard to swallow, it’s a little too faux and little too elitist. Though it’s still easy enough to get swept up in all the glitz and glamour of any fashion festival.

The more niche the better.

So it’s with huge excitement to be the accommodation partner with the upcoming African Fashion Festival New Zealand, which is being hosted in Wellington in late July.

The festival gives emerging artists and designers the opportunity to showcase their works on the catwalk to an audience craving these new designs.

The festival is a celebration of creatives from the African nation, brought to life by the good people at Adjoaa, a social enterprise bringing all these neat pieces to the people of Australia and New Zealand.

When you scroll the Adjoaa collection, the colour is what stands out the most. The palette is bright, a celebration of the colours that stir inspiration from a land that is rich with shades.

The festival aims to show off the best in emerging artists to an audience that would otherwise not see these pieces.

Over the nights of July 21 & 22, the festival will host nightly catwalk runway shows with Saturday ending in what will be a party not to be missed.

Before all that happens, on Tuesday, July 15, we’ll be holding a Buyers Event at QT Museum Wellington for those of you in the fashion game looking to purchase those fresh looks.
