The French Connection is Hippo’s monthly ode to the art of dining, drinking and conversations that last longer than the meal itself.

On the last Saturday of the month, we’re joining forces with a different Aotearoa vineyard for three courses, very good wine and one glorious afternoon around the table.

Each edition brings a fresh seasonal menu from the Hippo kitchen, bottles selected to keep pace and a new vineyard taking its turn in the spotlight. Expect three courses dressed for the occasion, crushed grapes in very good company and conversation with no scheduled finish.

It’s déjeuner as it should be: long, wine-soaked and well shared.

12.30pm–3.30pm | $89 per person

Nga Waka pours first this October. Take your seat, raise a glass and give lunch the afternoon it deserves.
