At QT Newcastle, we like our luxe with a conscience. That is why we are reworking the way we source, serve and supply because little shifts can leave the boldest footprints.

• Less is Luxe: We’ve kissed goodbye to excess. Toothbrushes and combs are available on request. Waste is unfashionable, but we’ll never leave you high and dry.
• Mini to Maxi: Tom Dixon pumps replace fiddly minis. Same indulgence, more glam, less landfill.
• Locally Sourced & Loved: Where possible our menus and minibars are Hunter at heart. Fresh, seasonal, and fiercely local.
• Water Smarts: Low-flow taps and dual-flush loos-saving litres while you luxuriate.
• Phasing Out Plastic: Filtered water stations keep you refreshed without the plastic guilt-trip.
• Digital Style: Paperless check-in and digital compendiums keep things slick, smart, and seriously sustainable.
• Stationery Slim Down: When requested for C&E if it’s done.

Sustainability isn’t just our thing, it’s your thing too. At QT Newcastle, every guest gets a starring role in the green scene. Small choices, big impact, all effortless.

• The Towel Turnaround: Hang it up, skip the wash, and we’ll hand you a $10 voucher to splash at the bar. Good for the planet, better for your spritz fund.
• Reduce & Recycle: Pop recyclables aside, we’ll handle the dirty work. Proceeds from collected bottles are donated to St. Vincent de Paul Society NSW. Sit tight, dual bins are on the way to save our day.
• Sip Responsibly: Refill, refresh, repeat. Our water stations love your bottle as much as you do. We encourage the use of reuseable water bottles. Refill stations are available at each of our dining venues, just ask our staff to give you a hand.
• Roam Responsibly: Trams, EV stations, and Newcastle’s salty air are all on your doorstep. Take the green route – or charge your electric or hybrid vehicle at our basement EV stations.
• Mindful Shopping: Avoid purchasing merchandise derived from threatened species, heritage artifacts or items of significant cultural value whilst travelling. We encourage guests to consider the origin of items when purchasing souvenirs while travelling and to avoid purchasing any heritage artefacts or items derived from rare or threatened species.

Sustainability isn’t just about the planet – it’s about people, too. Our commitment extends into the local community, supporting initiatives and organisations that make a tangible difference:

• STRETCH Workplace Giving: Our team members can donate to trusted community partners, including The Children’s Hospital Foundation, Assistance Dogs Australia, Lifeline, WWF Australia, and Disabled Winter Sport Australia.
• Community & Conservation Support: QT Newcastle also contributes to initiatives such as donations to Vinnie’s Return and Earn, TAFE NSW Newcastle and Hunter Wetlands Centre, helping strengthen the community & ecosystems we call home.
• Conservation and community projects: Annual staff volunteering at Hunter Wetlands Centre.
• Local Partnerships: From suppliers to small businesses and dining venues, we champion Newcastle-based talent and enterprises that share our sustainable values.
