By Niall Roeder…
Yum. That’s what a Vanilla Passionfruit Pisco Sour is. Good old-fashioned yumminess in a glass. And it’s sexy. Put this next to a schooner of beer and it’s like standing Miranda Kerr next to Clive Palmer – different leagues.
Pisco, the grape brandy that both Chile and Peru claim as their own, is sweet and a great backbone for a cocktail. The traditional pisco sour, again which ownership is fought over by the Chileans and Peruvians, is a frothy mix of lime, egg white, sugar and the good stuff. If you haven’t tried the stimulating aperitif, you should. They’re tasty and great excuse to have a pre-dinner tipple.
Now that you’ve had some pisco knowledge thrown your way, prepare your mind to be blown as we take you into unchartered pisco waters. Our bartenders at Lucky’s are a little crazy, there’s no denying that, but they are craftsmen too. We’re hammering through the 21st century and they’ve decided to bring the pisco sour along with us.
They’ve taken delicious Passionfruit Infused Campo Encanto Pisco, mixed it with sugar, egg white and lime. Then added a splash of Peychaud bitters and some Vanilla Essence. And there you have it, a Vanilla Passionfruit Pisco Sour.
To the bar!
