To market, to market.

Feb 13, 2014  ·  3 min read

On the hunt for some organic produce? Maybe you are looking for a vintage piece to team with your brand new suit? The markets in Canberra are a great way to team high end with rare finds and mix up your look/plate for the weekend.

Old Bus Depot Markets

Lovers of fine hand crafted wares, clothing collectors, food fanatics and jewellery junkies are just a few of the people who make their way to Canberra’s famous Old Bus Depot Markets every Sunday.
In a fabulous old industrial building you will experience the endless colour, tastes, sounds and atmosphere that is “Canberra’s Sunday Best”.

21 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston.

Open every Sunday from 10am – 4pm, and Saturdays in December.

Gorman House Markets

For a quarter of a century, the Gorman House Markets have been Canberra’s much loved meeting place, providing opportunities for the community and visitors alike to express themselves creatively, trade and shop in a vibrant environment, access to an audience, engage in the arts and be a part of living heritage.

Every Saturday from  10am – 4pm.

Gorman House Arts Centre, Ainslie Avenue, Braddon, ACT 2612

Hall Markets

The Hall Markets is now one of Australia’s largest home-made and home-grown goods markets. The markets have a rural theme and are held at the picturesque Hall Village Showground just 10 kilometres north of Canberra.

The markets feature about 250-300 stalls displaying their wares and fare. Friendly and full of bargains, the Hall Markets offer the best of fresh produce, baked goods, plants, furniture, clothing, pottery, jewellery, children’s toys, crafts, unique gifts, and more. Barbeques, canteens, live music and other entertainment makes each visit a fun, family day out.

Entry is by gold coin donation, which goes towards Hartley Lifecare’s disability services.

The Markets are held from 10am to 3pm on the first Sunday of every month except January.

Capital Region Farmers Market

The Capital Region Farmers Market is run by the Rotary Club of Hall, and provides customers with a diverse range of fresh farm and food produce straight from the producer. It is strictly farm/food product related – there are no art or craft stalls, clothing, or imported products. The Market follows the fundamental but simple rules of authenticity, credibility and sustainability. Head over to Exhibition Park to enjoy a coffee, an egg and bacon roll and to peruse the fresh produce stalls.

Open every Saturday from 7:30am – 11:30am

Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) – use the Federal Highway entrance, clearly signposted for the markets.
