Shops and boutiques include: Hipsley Lane, a unique vintage clothing boutique owned and operated by Lifeline Canberra; The Hive Gallery, a fantastic location for whimsical gifts and beautiful designer jewellery; and the Lonsdale Street Traders – a warehouse that houses an eclectic variety of designer fashion and homewares boutiques, as well a florist, barbershop and cafe.

If you’re looking for something uniquely Canberran, have a look at Shop Handmade, found on City Walk near the casino. These designers started off by holding quarterly craft and design fairs, and received such a positive response from the Canberra public that they decided to open a permanent shop. Browse through homewares, fashion, accessories, jewellery, children’s toys and so much more – all designed by artists and craftspeople from in and around Canberra.

The Canberra Glassworks is a producer of stunning, high quality glass homewares and artworks. Housed in Canberra’s oldest permanent public building – the Kingston Powerhouse, it is a wonderful experience just to visit and take a look around. As well as the on-site gift shop, the Glassworks also has an exhibition space, and glass-blowing workshop, where members of the public are able to watch artists at work, and sometimes even have a go themselves. Definitely worth a visit!
