Georgia Lines Takes the Stage at QT Auckland

Jul 2, 2024  ·  3 min read

By now everyone should have heard the name Georgia Lines, and guarantee you’ve been belting out to one of her tunes on the drive to work. QT Auckland were privileged to support 2024 ‘Pop Artist of the Year’ and all round amazing human, with the launch of her debut album, The Rose of Jericho.

In a whirlwind month of events, Georgia kicked off the festivities with an intimate dinner in Esther’s Limani room. The walls draped in flowing fabric, guests were treated to a first listen to some of the tracks on the album, alongside a feasting menu by Esther complete with bread bows and meringue swans to suit the theme of the evening. The following week Georgia snapped up ‘Pop Artist of the Year’ at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, while her new single,Faith“, reached the top spot on the New Zealand music charts. A positive lead up to the much-awaited album launch at Rooftop at QT, Georgia is making waves in New Zealand and across the ditch and we could not have been prouder to help celebrate the exceptional talent of one of Aotearoa’s rising stars.

On Wednesday the 5th of June, Rooftop at QT provided the perfect backdrop for a night filled with music, emotion, and celebration as Georgia performed the whole album for the first time to a VIP crowd of friends, family, and key players in the New Zealand music industry.

Georgia took the stage with an air of grace and confidence, opening with the moving song Grow Old Without You,” a track that immediately captivated the audience with its emotional depth and lush instrumentation. Her flawless vocals, combined with the rich sounds of piano and sparkling synths, set the tone for an evening of musical mastery. The evening saw a majestic duet Not By Your Side with Kiwi artist TEEKS, which was a standout moment of the night. The chemistry between the two artists was palpable, bringing an added layer of authenticity and emotion to the performance. A wardrobe change into a flowing pink number and we got into the upbeat tone of the night which had everyone in the crowd cutting shapes and rocking out into the evening

About the album:
The Rose of Jericho is a deeply personal journey through heartache, healing, and revival. Georgia Lines poured her soul into this project over two challenging years, resulting in a collection of songs that resonate with beauty, vulnerability, and nostalgia. The album’s title was inspired by a desert flower that can be revived after periods of desolation, which perfectly symbolises Georgia’s own journey through difficult times to emerge stronger and more vibrant.
