QT Wellington unveils their latest creative collaboration: Gallery 4

QT Wellington’s ‘Your Art. Our Rooms.’ initiative launched earlier this May, throwing down the challenge to the greater artistic community to submit artworks for the bedhead walls for 9 brand new guest rooms. The hotel’s challenge was incredibly well received, with over 270 entries from local and national artists. With such a high number of quality submissions, the Capital’s favourite quirky hotel then chose to adorn all 25 rooms on level 4 with bespoke artwork, quite a feat! Gallery 4 launched on Thursday 1 November 2018 with rooms bookable now.

FAQ

Will I get paid for the work?

The successful submissions will receive between $2,000-$6,000 NZD remuneration for each work. The final price will be negotiated between the Hotel, the Judging Panel and the Artist. Winning artists will also receive the following:

• Experience QT Life with Two Night’s Accommodation at QT Wellington including breakfast for two and Dinner at Hot Sauce or Hippopotamus to the value of $250
• Extensive Public Relations promotion via our internal and external PR channels
• Acknowledgment in QT Wellington Marketing Material
• Associated expenses for travel to Wellington (if required)

When do entries close?

Entries are now closed, and had to be submitted by 5pm Friday 8th June 2018.

What mediums may I use?

The Artist may use any medium of their preference, including but not limited to: Paint on wall (mural); Paint on Canvas; Print; Decal; Photography; Sculpture; Drawing

Who can enter?

Entry into the competition is open to all residents of New Zealand aged 18 years and over.
