Is there anything better than walking through a vineyard? You look left, followed by a peak to the right and all you see are bunches of grapes, with that cloudy look, almost ready to for the picking.
The vines look strong, row after row, the smell of that somewhat country landscape with rolling valleys of what looks to be an endless supply of grapes.
It’s like a safety blanket in a way. You know that the 2017 production line is going well and no matter what happens, these grapes will soon be ready for drinking.
Ahh wine, you’re a thing of beauty.
Thankfully it’s time to celebrate the juice, though we’re going to get really specific with exactly what we’re celebrating here.
Pinot Noir, a personal favourite of the blackberry from the Vitis Vinifera family and is being celebrated all this week in the windy city of Wellington at Pinot Noir NZ.
According to those who know a lot about wine and New Zealand, Pinot Noir is the nation’s biggest growing grape. So why not spend three days celebrating the light tannin and summer berry and mushroom characteristics that make up the god given juice.
Pinot Noir NZ is tipped to be the best Pinot Noir event on the planet with keynote speakers, well-tipped panels and a celebration of New Zealand food, film, music and of course a whole bunch of Pinot to be tasted.
