Inspired by the graceful aquatic giant exotic to Wellington waters, Hippo’s posh scene and imaginative cuisine reflects the city’s creative spirit.
Punchy pink power-clashing, in the best way possible. Pops of colour on plush textures and a bevy of chandeliers. The ooh-la-la French vibe is still just as flamboyant, but with a rejuvenation of that QT je ne sais quoi…
The real spectacle is the refreshed fare. Finesse, without the fuss. The ‘fine dining’ of the past has been relaxed to ‘refined’, with deceptively simple dishes centred around fresh cuisine and clean flavours. Wildly original, yet rooted in French technique, Executive Chef Sylvester Nair has designed a new menu to please Hippopotamus’ dedicated fans and modern palates alike. International inspiration fuses with the finest local produce for one decidedly top-tier affair.
