Save-the-tuna sushi rolls

Jan 2, 2014  ·  2 min read

One of our favourites this month after an over-indulgent silly-season is with a delicious vegetable-laden & carb-free, sushi-inspired snack.

And just like our all-natural, all-organic spaQ body products, no animals… including those fishes in the deep blue sea… are harmed in the process!

INGREDIENTS:

Filling:

  • 1 Avocado mashed
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan Rock Salt
  • Julienne some of your favourite vegetables. Our favourites include carrots, cucumber , snow peas & red peppers. Snacking as you chop is highly recommended!
  • Sprouts (Mung bean, alfalfa, broccoli and snow pea shoots)
  • Baby spinach

Wrapper:

  • Nori Sheets

For dipping:

  • Wasabi paste
  • Nama Shoyu

METHOD:

  1. Mash or blend the avocado, lemon & salt together.
  2. Lay out your nori sheets and make sure your baby spinach leaves are dry then place them along the bottom edge of each sheet of nori.  Generously spread the mashed avocado over the spinach leaves and top with your julienned vegetables and sprouts.
  3. Roll up your nori almost to the top. Spread a line of wasabi with your finger along the top edge of the nori to help seal your roll.  Roll completely.
  4. To serve, eat whole or slice with a very sharp knife into a few pieces.  Designed to be eaten immediately and best served with wasabi paste and Nama Shoyu for dipping.
