After a two-year hiatus, LUMA Southern Light Project serves up a dazzling dose of radiant (de)light on our very shores. Enchanting installations fill the waterfront and gardens for one weekend only. And we have your itinerary sorted for a wicked winter escape – thank us later.
The award-winning arts and culture festival features Queenstown’s unique alpine canvas as the backdrop for home-grown and international artists to paint with light. Expect vibrant projections and interactive displays, awe-inspiring sculptures and illuminated pathways. As dusk falls, the artworks come to luminous life, casting a spellbinding glow over the winter night.
We’ve scouted the best spots to catch the vibrant LUMA lights. From the festival itself, to level six at ours.
Check in and check us out. Take a stroll through town and stop at our favourite Lightworx Gallery to get you in the LUMA mood.
Hungry? Head to our Total Eclipse dinner in Bazaar, where the finest worldly marketplace is set to 80s love tunes and the lucent glow of celestial forms. Pile your plate high and glimpse the light display for a taste of what’s to come.
Take the lift from Bazaar right down to the waterfront and frolic in LUMA iridescence as you gaze upon the festival displays.
Early bird gets the worm and we’ve got an adzenture-filled day ahead, with sunrise sun salutes in Reds. Our Inner Glow Yoga Flow will start your day with a Namaste as expert instructor, Karina Guthrie, gets bodies moving in alignment.
Refuel with a brilliant Bazaar breakfast of freshly flipped pancakes, the crispiest rösti and eggs made to order.
Inner glow? Tick. Now for a few blissful moments of relaxation, rejuvenation and restoration – right from your room. From Hollywood facial to hot stone massage, slip into the zen-zone as you’re treated to tailored serenity treatments from Indulge Spa.
Later, sip mulled wine by the fireside as you meditate on a peaceful day of pure bliss.
We’ve arranged for a late check out – you lucky thing. Enjoy a leisurely morning walk around the waterfront, as you weigh up lunch locations. No trip to Queenstown is complete without the requisite trip to iconic eateries, Fergburger and Fergbaker.
Bellies full and souls satisfied, this LUMA weekend well spent brings a whole lot of content.
