“We work hard, we play hard”, cue “Everybody Dance Now” by C&C Music Factory and you’ve got yourself the reasoning behind Sunset Sessions at Reds Bar.
Don’t worry if the iconic Simpsons reference slipped past you. In its simplest form, Sunset Sessions involves indulging in a few well-earned and well-priced drinks. Furthermore, the Sesh’ is about parking yourself on a classy couch, the type of couch that induces an involuntary “ahhhhhyyes” upon landing, to watch the sun sink behind the Remarkables amidst a blaze of rose and tangerine hue.
Sounds rather nice, doesn’t it?
Call it the pre game, sundowners or a “few lazy ones”, whether you’re in for the long haul with a group of thirsty amigos or a civilised dinner with the better half, this is your starting point.
Maybe you’ve knocked off work or finished a hard day of sightseeing and you’re looking to loosen the respective tie or binocular strap. If so, there’s a Heineken, glass of Anthem Pinot Noir and a charcuterie board waiting patiently for you at the bar. If neither of those tipples tickle your fancy, then maybe the following two will …
Black Robin Gin, Lemon Juice, Elderflower Quinine Syrup, Six Barrels Salted Cucumber Soda, Muddled Cucumber, Rosemary Sprig and Cucumber Roll.
This is our version of the classic gin and tonic. It’s super fresh and goes down a treat during the final hours of sunlight.
Swiftburn sauvignon blanc
With passionfruit and gooseberry on the nose and fresh fruit savoury notes of capsicum and herbs on the palate, the Chard Farm’s Swiftburn is something a little different in the best kind of way. The finish is long, mineral and flavoursome, just how we like it when we’re cheers’ing the sun.
