Bronte Beach is two kilometres south of Bondi Beach and north of Coogee Beach. The beach faces east and picks up swell from any direction. It’s popular with surfers and is often rougher than Bondi, but has a rock pool and 30-metre ocean pool towards the southern end of the beach for those wanting to splash around in safety.
Experienced board riders should have a crack at the southern headland, where the beach’s best wave can be found. Careful – it breaks over rock!
There is a grassy park behind the beach that has barbecues and picnic tables.
