As an eco-friendly hotel in Bondi, we’re shaping a more conscious tomorrow. Because our fabulous guests, iconic neighbourhoods and Queen Earth Herself simply must keep shining bright.
After all, happy hour won’t be so happy if things go sideways, and our views won’t be so dazzling either.

How we're choosing better at QT Bondi
Thoughtful Sourcing, Smarter Choices
At QT Bondi, we believe that sustainability can be stylish, and small changes can make a big impact. That’s why we’ve reimagined the way we source, serve, and supply for our guests:
- Less is More: In room pens and pads are now available only on request, reducing unnecessary waste while keeping you covered.
- Mini to Maxi: Single-use bathroom products have been replaced with refillable BUZZ pump dispensers, offering a luxurious experience that’s kinder to the planet.
- Locally Sourced & Loved: We work with neighbourhood partners, who share our sustainable vision where we can – fresh, local, and seasonal.
- Support More, Waste Less: Recycled cleaning cloths are purchased via a local company that supports young adults with disabilities.
- We encourage guest to shop local, visit local reuse and second hand stores and visit local produce markets
Together, these steps show that small, thoughtful choices – whether in sourcing, service, or day-to-day operations – can create a big difference for our planet and community.
Designing for the Future
We’re building sustainability into the way we update and run the hotel:
- Energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors in smaller spaces
- High-efficiency appliances installed during upgrades
- Water Smarts: Low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets, that save thousands of litres of water each year without compromising your comfort.
- Installation of heat pumps to provide hotel water throughout the hotel which are provide extreme efficiency & zero-on site emissions and
- Digital Style: Paperless check-in, digital business cards, and digital compendium keep everything sleek.
Playing Our Part
We’re choosing to respond to a changing climate, empower our people and customers to take part, and share our progress along the way. So far, we have:
- Room Refresh: Skip a room refresh and not only save water, you’ll also receive a $10 minbar voucher as a little thank you.
- Reduce and Recycle: Separate recyclables from general waste utilising the dual bins located in your rooms – our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.
- Mindful Shopping: Avoid purchasing merchandise derived from threatened species, heritage artifacts or items of significant cultural value whilst travelling.
A Community That Cares
Sustainability isn’t just about the planet – it’s about people, too. Our commitment extends into the local community, supporting initiatives and organisations that make a tangible difference:
- STRETCH Workplace Giving: Our team members can donate to trusted community partners, including North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club and WWF Australia
- Community Partnerships: We are proud partners with Border Trust, our region’s local community foundation, and contribute to many local community and sporting event fundraisers by way of voucher donations.
- Supporting Australian Conservation Foundation through annual donation.

Every choice you make during your stay adds up. None of it’s a sacrifice. Most of it you won’t even notice. Here’s how we’re going easier on Earth. You coming?
- Use water efficiently and choose to skip linen changes to save water and energy and be rewarded with a minibar voucher as mentioned already in our Go Green initiative.
- Air conditioners automatically shut off when the balcony doors/windows are opened.
- Never litter and reduce and recycle where you can. Separate recyclables from general waste utilising the dual bins located in your rooms – our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.
- Use reusable water bottles to minimise use of single use plastic bottles and try to use reusable grocery bags when you go shopping.
- Reduce emissions, meet the locals and immerse yourself in the culture by using public transport.
- QT Bondi does not sell any souvenirs but encourages guests to consider the origin of items when purchasing souvenirs while travelling and to avoid purchasing any heritage artefacts or items derived from rare or threatened species.
