Where Bondi Locals Eat

Mar 30, 2016  ·  3 min read

By Amy Wisemantle.

Fact: Bondi is famous all over the world. It boasts an iconic sandy stretch, boutique shopping, pumping bars and world class dining. Keep on reading and we’ll run you through the haunts the locals frequent to keep full throughout the day.

Head here for the best breakfast…

If you just happen to be grabbing breakfast on the go, head to Sonoma Bakery Café and grab something delicious and freshly baked to go with your coffee. This spot is the only place you should go to grab your bread too – they churn out epic sour dough made fresh every day. If you’ve had delicious bread at a Sydney restaurant recently, chances are it was from Sonoma.

To sit down and properly enjoy the sights, head to Porch and Parlour at North Bondi. This rustic venue is open all day and you’ll find it hard to pry yourself away. Be sure to grab a coffee and enjoy the view while your table is prepared. Oh, and order the Devil’s Breakfast… you can thank us later.

Lunch time? Look no further…

If you want to keep the good food vibes rolling straight from breakfast to brunch – mimosa optionalTrio is where you want to go. This South Bondi gem serves up scrumptious meals inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, of which it’s pretty hard to go past their Shakshouka and Texas BBQ Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict.

If you’ve had a chance to digest your breakfast and are ready for the next most important meal of the day, head to Bondi Trattoria and soak up the sun and outdoor views. Quality Italian fare is what you’ll find here, and oh my do they do it bene... Molto bene. Get stuck into pizzas, pastas and other hearty mains, washed down with a Bloody Mary and you’ll be one happy camper.

Our brand new Banana & Nutella Brioche Bake. Served with hazelnut crumble and dulce de leche.

Days winding down, time for dinner…

If it’s a nice night, and every night in Bondi is, take the stroll up to Icebergs Dining Room and Bar and enjoy the view it’s renowned for. This elegant space is all about the fine dining experience with truly unbeatable scenery and a broad specialised menu. For a bit of everything, order the Tasting Menu and leave with a full stomach.

With a heap of locations citywide, Bills is clearly a Sydney favourite, and Bills at Bondi Beach does not disappoint. The minimalist décor allows for you to relax and enjoy the best Modern Australian grub around. Order a few small share plates to get you started, followed by anything from the BBQ menu and don’t forget to save room for the salted caramel ice cream sundae… what diet?

Feel like a midweek cocktail while your in Bondi? Have a read of of this.
