Feeling the Bondi vibe is a key ingredient in enjoying this part of the world. Beautiful beaches, sexy people and a quirky atmosphere culminate in something truly special. When you feel the buzz in Bondi, you know it’s something unique.
As a traveller and a Tasmanian, stepping foot into Bondi was an awakening moment. I have travelled from the cold coastlines of Stockholm to the intense backstreets of Barcelona and everywhere has its own vibe.
Bondi stands out because of the distinctly passionate locals and the unmistakable vibe. It evolves quickly, new places open every month, while old ones dwindle away and die. It’s a tough gig to be successful in Bondi.
Last week I was walking down Campbell Parade and stumbled upon something new. Something shiny – The Emporium Barber. My eye was instantly engaged by the quirky and twisted interior, laden with tattooed and funky people.
As I looked around, a glistening coffee machine caught my attention. A huge 3 spoke unit, my first thought was “Can a barber make good coffee – surely not”.
The answer. F_ck yes. I’m a coffee wanker so I like to try out any place I can. Double Shot Latte for me.
I’m a coffee wanker so I like to try out any place I can. Double Shot Latte for me. Bravo Emporium – Your coffee is on par with the best in Bondi and Australia.
Now being of QT ilk, with barbers at both QT Sydney and QT Canberra – barbering is something we really understand and appreciate.
If you want to truly immerse yourself into the Bondi culture then looking the part helps. It makes you feel not only cool but also a part of the action. Being served a beer or sweet coffee while getting it done adds to the experience.
They specialise in beards and moustaches which is handy in a place like Bondi – you will walk out feeling like a king.
(BTW when they slap the hot towel across your newly caressed face, you will understand what luxury in Bondi really is).
