By Niall Roeder.
The second instalment of Red Bull’s Canvas Cooler Project kicked off in Bondi in late November. The project involved getting a bunch of local artists and letting them drop creative bombs on mini fridges in any way they saw fit.
The launch was at the great Sunday-session spot, The Bucket List, and featured Sydney artists Lauren Webster, Mulga, Numskull, Lance Corlett, Phibs, Georgia Hill, Brett Chan, Joe Brown (son of Bryan Brown), Steph Tsai and Jess Cruickshank – all epic scribblers, sprayers and painters in their own right.
You may or may not have heard of these artists. From Phibs; a psychedelic muralist, to Georgia Hill; a specialist in hand drawn type-based artworks, and Mulga’s intricate line work and vivid colours, each carefully selected artist has a very different approach to their work.
Be sure to check out their sites below and swing them a cheeky follow on Instagram… Aaaaaand go check out their “canvas coolers” in the following locations, in what would be quite the Bondi pub crawl… If you’ve got the minerals that is?
