QT Bondi Presents: Bondi Style with Pip Edwards
What characterises Bondi? What makes the beating heart of Bondi tick? It’s an eclectic suburb, that very much revolves around a golden sand and waxhead lifestyle. It’s also big time about quality grub and flowing bars, not to mention art, music, fitness… and of course fashion.
We want to give y’all a unique insight into Bondi – little tips about the community, lifestyle, history and culture. This isn’t just for our guests, but for everyone with an interest in Australia’s most famous beachside suburb. To help us do so, we’ve partnered with some of Bondi’s finest locals (who we like to call our QT Bondi Curators) to develop a series of videos and stories. For the first in the series we’ve partnered with Aussie style queen and Bondi local, Pip Edwards, to get the Bondi connection on fashion and where to shop.
So for all you guys and gals into your farrrrrrshun, Pip points out the best boutiques to check out around town. And even if you’re not frothing on the the latest trends, the clip below still gives you a sweet little sticky beak around Bondi.
Why Pip?
Pip is an ex-creative brain from sass & bide and ksubi and is currently the darling Design Director at General Pants Co. and the force behind new active wear label, P.E. She’s bang on when it comes to looking sharp and she knows her stuff when it comes to Bondi. That’s why we turned on the camera and followed her around town, throwing questions her way and making note of her inside tips.
Pip’s Tips
There are almost too many places to shop in Bondi… almost. Streets and alleys are lined with designer boutiques just waiting to be raided. Pip swung the following local knowledge our way – a few tips on where to go and what you’ll find…
Bondi Markets – A Sunday morning in Bondi must include a visit to the Bondi Markets. They are located at Bondi Beach Public School just around the corner from QT Bondi on Campbell Parade. The Markets are a local institution of designer couture, exotic imports, hand made jewellery, arts, crafts, home wares, retro furniture, vintage clothes and bric-a-brac. The markets have been happening since ’93 and is where brands like sass & bide, Speedo, Zimmerman, Bailey Nelson, Lover, Mania Mania and Samantha Willis started.
Tuchuzy – Tuchuzy is a high-end women’s fashion boutique. It’s polished, minimal, chic and designer… It’s just like that one friend we all have who’s always ahead of the curve.
Camilla – Camilla is a boho chic woman’s lifestyle boutique specialising in bold and flowing kaftans, beach style swimwear and casually elegant resort wear.
The Academy Brand – The Academy Brand offers preppy premium men’s apparel – very collegiate and stylish.
Venroy – Venroy boasts preppy and casual leisurewear that’s comfortable, fun and looks good.
General Pants Co. – General Pants is a long-running crowd favourite. They are the kings of the street denim vibe.
