Discover Bondi Tour

From time to time, you can forget that Bondi is one of the most famous beaches in the world. Then again all you need to do is walk from north to south, or south to north (depending on where you get your coffee) along the beach and you are reminded why this place is a mecca to the beach lovers out there. In fact, you don’t even need to be a lover of the sand and waves to hold a burning candle for Bondi. It’s steeped in history, everyone has a story tied to the beachside village and depending who tells the story, the more in love you’ll fall with the place.

The blue rash tops that you can spot in the surf near the northern end of the beach are the surf instructors and our very good friends at Let’s Go Surfing. They’ll have you throwing shakas on a wave in no time. Though at the moment they have something else on offer: a walking tour of the world famous Bondi Beach.

The Discover Bondi tour is meeting daily, where a Bondi local will take you for a walk down the beach, stopping off at the Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, Australia’s oldest SLSC, to meet have chat with the team about the history of the beach and to no doubt spin a couple of yarns about the glory days. The tour then offers some photo opportunities with the club members and their life saving equipment, before taking you up to the southern headland for to check out the views over looking the Tasman Sea and the rugged coastline (no better time that the present considering the massive swells that have been battering the East Coast of late).
