Bondi takes the crown as the most well-known strip of sand in the whole of the nation, there is no debating that. From the shopping to the waves, the beach side living is sweet, but what about getting out of that bubble and stretching those wings of yours. You’ve heard about the Bondi to Bronte walk, right? It’s the walk that starts near Icebergs in the south, that big old ocean pool that makes an Instagram post go pop. Follow the coastal track around the cliff tops, through a little but awesome beach called Tamarama and then as you turn the corner of the coast, you’ll arrive at what could be dubbed, the favourite beach of the locals. Bronte is full of awesome eateries, sunrise opportunities and places to relax – away from the masses, two beaches north. So here is a little list of how to do Bronte really, really well.
Three Blue Ducks
Just to be totally transparent about this, I LOVE THIS PLACE, although I don’t think that has clouded my judgement when it comes to sourcing some damn good food in Bronte. The dudes at the Three Blue Ducks are all about fresh produce and it really shows. Take for instance the House Smoked Salmon Kedegree, that salmon is caught sustainably or by-catch, so it’s good for the environment and tastes delicious. The lunch and dinner menus should not be missed either, however in this part of the world, brunch is the most important meal of the day, followed by coffee… because that’s a meal.
Cali Press
Keep it cool brah, no need to hit the bars while strolling through beachside Bronte. In place, take care of your vessel and get stuck into the goods at Cali Press. Maybe a morning detox is in order and that’s why you are up walking the coastal track early in the morning, or perhaps you just need a morning boost that won’t give you heart palpitations, either way the good people at Cali Press Bronte will sort you with a pressed juice with all the goods.
Ocean Pool
Currently the temperature is ranging between cold and fresh with an odd east coast low bringing in a monster swell, though there are some days that sneak in that are absolute rippers. This may call for a quick dip in the stunning Bronte pool, if you’re game of course. Sunrise seems to be the best time of day to be in there – you will feel like a million bucks afterwards.
Picnics
Bronte has a rad foreshore full of BBQs and amenities to make a sunny winter’s day something you want to be apart of. Why not grab your goods from the Bondi Farmers Market and make your way with a picnic rug in hand to either the central rolling hill of Bronte or the North Headland. Here you can spot the surfers charging hard.
