Dogs and Bondi are synonymous; they go together like Bondi and Activewear, or Bondi and Yoga…
People here are crazy for dogs. If you’ve ever tried to walk a puppy down Campbell Parade, you know what I’m talking about – you feel like Justin Beiber eating a chicken burger at Chargrill Charlies. Take a stroll along the beachfront and it’s like every second person has a canine counterpart… a pooch is as welcome as a human at any restaurant and there’s not a café in Bondi without a doggy bowl out front.
In Bondi this April it’s about to get even crazier because we’re kicking it up a notch… Man’s best friend is about to become Man’s best Yoga buddy.
Yep, that’s right… it’s DOGA time baby!
(This is not an April Fools… Doggie Yoga is actually a thing)
This Saturday the 1st of March all those that love dogs and love yoga (so basically everyone who lives in Bondi) will come together on the grassy garden terrace of The Bucket List for a dog-friendly, outdoor Yoga session for the Sydney Dog & Cat Home Pet Adoption Day.
Run by local Yogi from the Dharma Shala Bondi Yoga School, Marja Jacobson will kick off the session at 12 pm. You’ll get the chance to meet, greet and cuddle plenty of adoptable furry friends. There will be food and drinks, puppy treats and the latest doggie fashion collection from DOGUE. All the proceeds going to Sydney’s only charity council pound, Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, as they search for a new location to call their home.
I mean, can you think of anything better? You can literally do the downward dog looking downward at your dog – all while helping innocent puppies and kittens looking for a new home
Now petless readers need not despair – Doga is open to any animal lover and you don’t need to have a dog or cat to attend!
