Sydney’s hippest enclave, Bondi Beach, is awash with the trendiest bars, restaurants, boutiques and specialty stores, with new hot spots popping up on the reg. We’re a little excited about some of the new shops and restaurants that have opened in the last few months, so whether you’re a local or passing through, be sure to hit these up during your sojourn around this beach-crazed haven.
Mister Zimi
Masters of the bold print and ultra-feminine aesthetic, Mister Zimi is a relaxed lifestyle clothing brand focused on colourful prints inspired by ‘70s silhouettes – sounds like they’re going to be right at home in their new Bondi location. This also marks their first permanent Sydney store. Their current summer collection, showcasing their signature print style at its best, will be sure to dazzle shoppers.

Bondi Beach Public Bar
From the fellas who brought you Icebergs Dining Room (an absolute Bondi stalwart) and The Dolphin Hotel, this brand spanking new 300-person venue is part of the Pacific Bondi Beach building complex, which is also home to QT Bondi (that’s us!). Promoting a laid-back beach vibe, the idea with Bondi Beach Public Bar is to be able to drop in straight from the beach for a meal and a drink. The menu reflects this laid back approach, favouring deep-fried cheesy ham croquettes over oysters and caviar. Their signature dish, the ‘squish burger’ is a double cheeseburger pressed down with a weight while it’s still warm – the perfect post-surf feed.

Rocker Bondi
A stellar new eatery by Darren Robertson and the team of Three Blue Ducks fame, Rocker opened in June this year. But, to be honest, we are still considering it as one of Bondi’s hot new openings, plus they won a hat in the 2018 Good Food Guide after being open for just four months. This new neighbourhood restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the idea being that locals can hit it up at any time of day. A seasonally focussed menu inspires new dishes daily and the pared-back industrial design sets the perfect scene for a good feed with friends.

Panama House
Reopening on December 20 is popular Bondi venue Panama House, which will re-launch after a location change, seeing it now comfortably placed in The Pacific development on Campbell Parade. The rebirth of this local favourite will see the venue transformed into an all-day restaurant and bar, with the likes of emu and rabbit bush tacos and its signature corned beef hash browns and chilli scrambled eggs dishes.
