4 Reasons to visit Bondi

words by alex robertson

Oh Sydney… you big beautiful wonderland of fun! The thing I love most about our beautiful city is there is just so much to explore and each and every little pocket of Sydney sucks you in for a different reason. The Inner West brings you a playground of great eateries, street art and parks. Surry Hills is a winner for its pub and bar scene and The Eastern Suburbs has a little bit of everything all rolled into one little bubble.

We came up with four reasons why you too would love Bondi:

Ever evolving café scene
When I first started in my role at QT Bondi I was determined to meet every café owner to get a feel for what options the Bondi Bubble had on offer so our guests could have the best local experience while staying with us. Little did I know the journey I was about to embark on – even though I had lived in the Eastern Suburbs for quite a while at that time, I did not realise the abundance of eateries in Bondi until I set out to see all of them. Every main street has at least 10 top notch eateries not to mention the hidden gems you find if you really have a good dig. The standouts for us at QT Bondi are The Shop, Lox Stock & Barrel, Porch & Parlour, Drake and Brown Sugar and our favourite hidden gems would have to be Shuk at North Bondi and Gould Street Deluxe which is nestled right up in the residential end of Gould Street.

Feeling good from the inside out even when the weather is convincing you otherwise #greenbreakybowl #brunch

Cocktails Galore
Bondi is known to be all about the health… Kale is life! But what we all still love in the bubble but everyone seems to keep very tight lipped about, is, we all love a good bloody cocktail and lucky for us there is no shortage of venues that whip up a mean bevvy. Cocktails with a view? North Bondi and Icebergs Bar & Dining have got your back! Prefer a cocktail jug? Maybe a jug of Frose? The Bucket List is your one stop shop. Or maybe you’re a pisco kinda’ hipster? Then Luis Tans will be your happy place.

Shop til you drop
Since I was a teenager, Gould Street Shopping has been one of my favourite places in Sydney to shop but it has come a long way since the days when Tuchuzy sold fluro festival gear and Electric Monkeys was in the mix. It’s now morphed into a passageway of fashion euphoria, taking on a whole new sophisticated vibe. The new makeover has graced us with names such as Jac & Jack, Venroy, The Annex, Playa by Lucy Folk, Museum and Bailey Nelson.

That Coast Line
Don’t get me wrong, Sydney is blessed to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world but there is something about the coastline from Bondi to Coogee that is different to any other stretch. Riddled with breathtaking cliff faces, ocean baths, white sand and aqua blue waters its perfect for the ultimate gram shot. There are a few magical little spots that you need not miss – Bronte Baths, Gordons Bay and North Coogee Mermaid Pool.
