Why did you become dog friendly? 

At QT we love to recognise and celebrate every individual, and at our hotels we encourage our guests to be free to be who they want to be. We thought it was only natural that we extend this to our four-legged friends and give them a chance to live their best lives at QT. 

We’d been receiving enquiries from our guests requesting pet friendly rooms. We know it can be stressful leaving dogs at home while you go away, so we wanted to alleviate this stress for our guests by offering fur-friendly stays. 

What other features are included within the room? 

In each pet-appointed room, you’ll find botanical products for pooch courtesy of New Zealand’s smith&burton, hand-baked, and human-grade bites by St Argo, a designer CUB orthopedic memory foam bed, and ‘Strut Your Pup’, a pet map featuring QT-approved spots to see, and be seen at. 

Dogs can’t eat the same food as humans… Has this been taken into consideration? 

Our decadent Pup Yeah! Room Service menu for pups is unlike any other pet-friendly experience… touting such tail-waggers as Steak Tartare and Bacon Ice-Cream. The dishes incorporate the same restaurant quality produce you’ll find in our signature restaurants and are specially curated by each QT. 

If your pooch does have any dietaries, let us know and our chefs can prepare them something special. 

I’m allergic to dogs! This means I can no longer stay at your hotel! 

As part of our Pup Yeah! offering, every room receives a thorough clean following every pup stay to ensure future guests can enjoy our beautiful spaces. We have a special pup levy in place which ensures post-puppy rooms get extra cleaning love, above our already stringent cleaning procedures. If you do have a dog allergy, you can also inform our team and they’ll be sure you aren’t allocated a pet friendly room. 

How will you control dogs barking? 

We expect all our furry guests to be well trained and well behaved. There also has to be a human present with their pup in room at all times. If a dog does become restless, each QT destination offers ‘Strut Your Pup’, a tailored pet map featuring local spots for walkies. If the owner isn’t able to control their pooch’s vocals, they’ll be asked to leave the hotel. 

Are there any restrictions? 

Pooches under 25kg are our sweet spot, but bigger best friends are welcome too – just call the hotel ahead of booking. We ask that owners leash their dog at all times when in permitted public areas and that their fur baby is never left alone in the room. Your fur bestie must be fully house trained and taken out for regular bathroom breaks. Maximum of 1 dog per room.

And what about any possible mess… any particular rules? 

As always, owners are responsible for their pups, but we’re on hand to make sure this is the most playfully luxurious experience both human and pup have ever had! 

What’s next? Cats? Crows? Llama’s? 

This package is for pets of the pooch variety, with all amenities, and menus specifically designed for dogs. You’ll be the first to know if we start welcoming other furry, feathery or scaly friends. 

How much is this going to cost us? 

Your pooches getaway or staycay is included in your Pup Yeah! booking. Book via QTHotels.com. It will be an additional $40 per night after 3-nights.

My dog makes less mess than a human. Why is it so expensive? 

Not only will our cleaning team be giving pet friendly rooms some extra TLC to guarantee they are in the same sparkling condition our guests know us for, but this fee is also inclusive of smith&burton Soothing Cologne & Waterless Foam Shampoo, a bag of St Argo treats, and our ‘Strut Your Pup’ pet map. Food & water bowls, and CUB beds are also provided, to remain in room. It’s important to us that every guest staying with us at QT has the most playfully luxurious stay possible.
