Set in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, QT Hotel Sydney makes its home at the centre of
Australia’s biggest, most vibrant city.
Flanked to the west by George Street, Sydney’s original colonial-era thoroughfare and
one of Australia’s most famous streets, housing more ASX-listed companies than any
other in Australia.
To the south, Market Street is home to the heritage-listed State Theatre, which first
opened its doors in 1929. The theatre’s 11-storey tower, now home to the State rooms of
QT Sydney, was one of the city’s original shopping destinations before being converted
to offices.
The historic Gowings Building at the juncture of the two roads was the home of the
legendary Gowings department store for over 80 years. The site’s reputation as a retail
hub is set to continue in 2012 with the opening of international fashion brand Topshop’s
flagship Australian store, occupying the first two floors and 2 basements beneath the QT
Sydney.
The Market Street block between George and Elizabeth Streets is one of Australia’s
busiest thoroughfares and remains one of the country’s premiere retail hotspots,
boasting global designer brands, while Australia’s most iconic landmarks, the Sydney
Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge are just moments away.
Hyde Park and the Botanical Gardens are a short stroll from QT’s doorstep, as is
Circular Quay, the transport centre for ferries to the northern beaches harbour suburbs.
Town Hall station, just down the road, has trains travelling to all over Sydney and an
extensive network of buses snake through the city. Sydney airport is just 30 minutes
away by car.
Or stay close to home and experience the vibrant inner city bars, galleries, theatres,
restaurants and retail in QT’s immediate vicinity.
