Want to try Australia’s “Best Mini Bar” and “Best Club Sandwich”? You can at QT!

Posted on: 26 May 2016

Designer hotel brand QT Hotels & Resorts has celebrated a double win at the prestigious Gourmet Traveller 2016 Australian Hotel Guide Awards whilst five of QT’s quirky design-driven properties were also included in the guide.

QT’s crowning began with “Best Mini Bar” for QT Hotels & Resorts and “Best Club Sandwich” for QT Sydney, while QT Port Douglas was listed as a finalist for “Best Hotel Pool”. In addition to the trophies in the cabinet, QT Sydney, QT Gold Coast, QT Canberra, QT Port Douglas and QT Bondi made the cut of Top 50 Hotels listed in the guide.

Recognised for their quirky and unique mini-bar selections, QT Hotels & Resorts prides itself on delivering an eclectic sense of fun with in-room inclusions to tempt any late night cravings while also ensuring guests feel like kids in a candy store. From childhood memory-evoking games such as Pick Up Sticks, to Emergency Bow Ties, Ninja(ginger)bread Men to ‘Kissing’ Mints plus the obligatory (yet still quirky) intimacy kit, QT infuses their signature twist through the mini bar experience.

“At QT, we are committed to providing our guests with an experience which is quirky yet fun and meaningful across all touch points of their QT stay. These accolades and the inclusions in the guide are certainly recognition of this,” said David Seargeant, Event Hospitality & Entertainment Group Managing Director, “And as for “Best Club Sandwich”, well, there’s only one way to find out!”

Now in its third consecutive year, a handpicked band of hotel reviewers from Australia’s most authoritative travel magazine anonymously scanned the country’s top hotels to determine the best in the business. These awards coincide with the release of the 2016 Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Guide – Australia’s only national hotel guide.

The annually produced Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Guide is an indispensable handbook featuring highlights of the country’s top 50 hotels. The guide also profiles dozens of other amazing properties from memorable Australian resorts and lodges to unique, boutique properties plus interesting budget lodgings and spa retreats.

Anthea Loucas Bosha, Editor-in-Chief of Australian Gourmet Traveller, extended her warmest congratulations to the award winners and properties featured in Australia’s only national hotel guide.

“It’s so gratifying to see, three years after launching our guide, that Australia’s hotel industry is experiencing such resurgence,” she said. “No fewer than 11 of our top 50 hotels are new entries for 2016.”
