Take a bite out of QT

Posted on: 27 August 2012

The city is spoiled for choice as QT Sydney brings fresh additions to the CBD’s vibrant hospitality scene with café, lounge bar and dining experiences.

Serving hotel guests and passers-by on the Market Street level, Parlour Lane Roasters offers a tantalising brew and casual bite from breakfast to late afternoon before transforming into a vibrant aperitivo wine bar.

By day, the café offers a fast, uncomplicated menu and quality coffee. As evening approaches skilled baristas hand over to wine aficionados. Expertly restored heritage tiles sit beneath original display cabinets, reinstated as mid-century design artefacts for a distinctly European ambience.

Kick on into the night at Gilt Lounge on level 2 of the Gowings Building for an impressive array of liquors and handcrafted cocktails designed by some Sydney’s finest bartenders. The cool vivid interior seats 60, mixing things up until 2am every night.

Those with an appetite for food that excels through simplicity and honesty will appreciate the unpretentious offerings of Gowings Bar & Grill. Creative Food Director Robert Marchetti has shaped a European-influence brasserie menu with a signature seafood accent.

Fresh produce from Australian artisan growers is presented to diners through an open kitchen brimming with activity around the wood fired oven and rotisserie. While Marchetti’s cuisine sates the tastebuds, the restaurant’s interior and exclusive music director take care of the other senses.

About QT Sydney

The culmination of some hefty restoration work, the historic Gowings and State Theatre buildings in Sydney’s CBD have been artfully revamped to see the introduction of Sydney’s newest hip designer hotel, QT Sydney.

An eagerly awaited development, with the gothic façades and features of the buildings carefully returned to their former glory, whilst inside the hotel possess cutting edge art and design featuring LED digital art, bespoke furniture and a strong use of bold colours makes clever interior design central to the hotel experience. And you can’t beat the location – it couldn’t be more in the heart of the city of it tried. The bowler hat lights are a favourite cheeky touch, but there’s a huge focus on art and design here. QT isn’t just about a place to lay your head.

QT Sydney is scheduled to open in September this year and is the only Sydney hotel to be a member of the exclusive Design Hotels.
