spaQ Therapist Wins ASPA Best Therapist of the Year 2013

QT Hotels and Resorts’ spaQ therapist, Rebecca McMurtie, has been bestowed the acclaimed Australasian Spa Association – Awards of Excellence accolade for 2013. As a standout therapist, one of McMurtie’s award-winning attributes is her intuitive ability to connect with spa guests on both a professional, personal and nurturing level.

With a diploma in Beauty Therapy, Body Treatments, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Epilation, Anatomy & Physiology, Facial Electrical and Microdermabrasion, Rebecca has worked alongside the Director of Development and Operations, Naomi Gregory in the openings of two of QT’s spas, outside of her original home town spaQ location on the Gold Coast.

As an invaluable asset in creating a dynamic service culture for the new teams appointed in these locations, Rebecca is a professional at educating her guests in health, wellbeing and skin care. Acting as a mentor to new spaQ therapists, she is frequently called upon to travel across all QT locations to assist with staff training.

McMurtie has assisted with the creation of practical standard operating procedures and guidelines for spaQ operations enhancing the guests experience and ensuring a safe working environment for staff and guests. A determined ambassador for the luxury spaQ offering, Rebecca can always be relied upon to carry out on and off site spaQ QT promotions.
