Robert Marchetti Announced as Creative Food Director of QT Sydney

Straight off the back of the announcement of Sydney’s newest design hotel, QT Sydney, opening in Sydney in September, comes the announcement of its Creative Food Director, Robert Marchetti.

Robert Marchetti joins QT Sydney with 24 years of experience as one of Australia’s favourite restaurateurs, in the last decade alone opening: North Bondi Italian; La Macelleria; Icebergs Dining Room and Bar; and Melbourne’s Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons.

Prior to opening these iconic institutions, his cooking career began at the age of 14. Marchetti worked with his brother in renowned Melbourne restaurants such as Café Maximus, Marchetti’s Latin, and Marchetti’s Tuscan Grill and then many of Melbourne’s most popular restaurants during the 1980’s achieving his first Age Good Food Guide Chefs Hat for Marchetti’s Tuscan Grill and a third for Marchetti’s Latin Restaurants.

The Gowings Bar and Grill restaurant concept is brasserie in style and execution, with a strong focus on woodfired crustacea and seafood on rotisserie. With the design redefining modern day dining, the 120 seat Gowings Bar and Grill will match its sensory adventure with an alluring and hypnotic design ethos.

The multifaceted and bustling room houses a market-type alley for the freshest of Australian ingredients, mixed in with hand picked artisan producers and the edgiest, all engrossing art in the restaurant world.

QT Sydney is a hotel like no other in Australia. Melding two of Sydney’s grandest and most prominent historical buildings, QT Sydney (located between the Gowings building and State Theatre) will be the city jewel of the QT crown.
